The short version

What students should enter

Student-facing activities should ask for the minimum needed to run the classroom activity. A first name, nickname, team name, or class code may be used when a teacher starts a session. Students should not enter email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, birthdays, or other identity details unless their teacher has specifically directed them to do so for a school-approved reason.

What stays on the device

Local-first tools such as timers, manipulatives, seating, planning, and most classroom utilities save data in the browser on the device being used. Big Brain Labs does not receive that local classroom data.

When cloud sync is used

Some collaborative classroom features need a server so students can join from more than one device. When that happens, the product should say so clearly. The full data breakdown lives in the Privacy Policy.

For parents and schools

If you have a question about what a specific tool stores, email support@bigbrainlabs.org. For district paperwork, DPA requests, or privacy review, start with the Districts & Compliance page.
